India's light' s out
This blog gives you the information about PM Modi's light's out event .
On April, 3 rd , Modi gave a talk during the pandemic times and the way he expressed was something giving confidence and boost to all the entire nation about this event .
This event was came into effect on 5th of April , at 9pm ,he told to switch off every lights in whole of India , and other electrical appliances where not asked to cut off. And mobile phone fashes and lamps were showed for 9 minutes to support and courage and it was dedicated to all doctors, nurses, frontline workers, police officers etc..
This might be the smallest thing for people to switch off lights , but there is a serious thing to be noted in lights out event . This event is a big hectic to TAMIL NADU ELECTRICAL BOARD, to maintain and control the supply of current at same time , when it is power off .
The restriction was given by them is not to switch off other electrical appliances during that time, and if the current supply shuts down there in whole of India, it may also lead to BLACK OUT
To know :
Black out is when the main power is switched off at the same time in entire country .
So here is the main idea about black out and science behind this black out .. !!
Let's move on :
For producing electricity ,we require great need of Thermal power , nuclear power station , and hydra power station and their contribution is infinity when it comes to supply and demand of electricity.
The current supply gets from , various power stations and the voltage will be high , second step is ,it flows through transmission substation and then it goes to distribution substation, and finally it comes to respective transformers where the voltage will be reduced and then it goes to respective houses . This os how the electrical supply reaches our house .
Usually , the normal current in electrical appliances will be 50hz .
For understanding :
If we see an mercury bulb , which is 20 watts and if it is about to fuse off , we may noticed that , the lights may blink, blink and finally it goes off . This is because the protons and neutrons goes fast upto 50 hz . That's the reason , why current flow is 50 hz .
To know :
50 hz which is maintained in electrical appliance and every state in India has control over it . This is maintained and controlled by POWER SYSTEM OPERATION CORPORATION LTD , is a government enterprise have a full control over the networks of India.
This enterprise , survey about the demand of electricity and they production level , will be predicted and it will be equal .
Before this lockdown an average current flow is 161 gw ,but after the lockdown, it was 135 hz and this enterprise predicted and supplied according to the need .
Now the main idea is light's out event is :
We all were using lights till 8.59 pm , and if we suddenly stopped consuming , the lights at 9pm then the network connected to PSOC LTD . gives more frequency and turbine in that power stations , reaches the high speed and it may also lead to blast out . That's the reason why, the TNEB , asked us to switch off ,only lights and not the other electrical appliances ,but particularly they mentioned not to switch off the main power systems .
If black out happens, in India the hospital devices such as infusion pumps , multi para patient monitor ,and petrol stations will also get disconnected at the same time .
After 5th of April , we received the news from TNEB , not to switch off other electrical appliances excluding lights , and if they do this , there won't be any problem in India and they predicted the demans of lights , would come down from 10 to 15 gw .
And as a result and that enterprise would produce less supply on the next day after lights out event and finally , there won't be any problem for anyone.
So lastly, my view point is , it does not make any change , rather this lights out event would go wrong when all electrial appliances are switched off , because it is not guaranteed, whether the people will shut down only lights and not main systems .
